Advisor Agreements

Choose carefully. Document everything.

The right advisor opens doors that take years to build yourself. The wrong agreement — or no agreement — creates cap table noise and awkward conversations at Series A. Use a FAST agreement and keep the equity modest.

• Use a FAST (Founder/Advisor Standard Template) agreement
• Set vesting: typically 2 years, 6-month cliff
• Include IP assignment and confidentiality provisions
• Define the scope of what you're actually asking them to do
• Get a 409A before issuing options — even to advisors
